Arriving in Durban you will pick up your hire car. Today is your day at leisure and with an impressive list of things to see and do Durban is sure to keep you entertained. See shark feeding time at the Aquarium. Go for a stroll around Umgeni River Bird Project. Go to the Snake Park and watch them milking venom. Learn more about sharks at the Sharks Board near Umhlanga Rocks. Check out the Natural Science Museum at the City Hall. See what’s on at the Bat Centre. Visit the Durban Art Gallery, and the Victoria Street Market. Go to the waterfront bars where you can watch ships come into the Harbour.

Depart Durban very early, as this is a long day, and start your self drive adventure to Mozambique. The drive to the Kosi Bay Border Post is about 5 hours, but it is a beautiful drive. Your drive will take you through sugar cane plantations, and corn fields. If you are lucky, you might even see game along the way. Ponta Mamoli is situated only 22kms from the Kosi Bay/Ponta do Ouro border post. It is only possible with 4x4 to drive the last 22km’s. Upon arrival at Ponta Mamoli beach resort, you will truly be in paradise. The wide, sandy beaches are never-ending and the vast expanse of ocean is crystal clear and very inviting. Here you can scuba dive, fish, ride horses or just relax and lie on the beach.

The largest elephants in South Africa (+/- 18 inches taller than the rest), can be seen in a 190 mi sq Park on the KwaZulu Natal/Mozambique border. Tembe's elephants were at one time South Africa's last remaining free-ranging herd, moving seasonally between Mocambique and Maputaland. In recent years they have sought refuge in the dense sand forests of Tembe to escape the depredations of border conflicts and landmines, and continuous harassment by ivory poachers. These magnificent elephants - more than 140 in number - are Tembe's main attraction … they can be observed at fromgame-drive vehicles, from discreetly located hides which overlook their waterholes - or, if one is lucky, you might even be able to watch them forage behind the fence, just meters away from your own private patio.

Today is your final day in Durban before continuing with your onward travels. Return your car to Durban’s international Airport. Durban International Airport is only a 10 minute drive from the City and is serviced daily by domestic flights, as well as international flights.
